Roommates, we all know there are two things people don’t play. Their time and food. Consumers spend their hard-earned money on food and hope it meets the expectations in the advertisement. Complaining is one thing, applying pressure and taking legal action is another. It is not uncommon for consumers to call food or beverage companies because of false advertising.
In the past, companies like Red Bull were sued for consumers who opposed their slogan “Red Bull Gives You Wings” because they did not receive anything after drinking the popular energy drink.according to Business insiderIn March 2015, Red Bull was required to pay US$6.5 million to the settlement fund.We reported in December that a New York man sued King of Hawaiians Misleading customers that their sweet rolls are produced in Hawaii, but are actually processed in California. Now Kellogg’s is being blamed by another New Yorker for the lack of berries in the strawberry tart.
according to TMZElizabeth Russett is leading a class action lawsuit against Kellogg’s, claiming that they misled consumers about what they eat. Elizabeth claims that the fruit filling in Kellogg’s whole wheat strawberry toaster pie is mainly other fruits. The lawsuit alleges that the problematic Pop-Tarts contained pears and apples instead of strawberries. The lawsuit alleges that Elizabeth insisted that this was not enough to provide the nutritional value of berries, let alone the taste of strawberries.
Elizabeth also claims that Kellogg’s uses their packaging to overcome consumers who want a strawberry breakfast snack. Elizabeth came to get the bag and claimed to have lost more than $5 million. In addition, she would like to see Pop-Tarts accurately marked to describe the product.
Roommate, leave a comment and let us know what you think about this lawsuit!
