United States: Donald Trump announces plans to launch his own social network-News

[ad_1]

According to reports, “Social Truth” is already available for pre-order in Apple’s App Store

Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he plans to launch his own social network, which is his latest move to regain Internet dominance after being fired. Banned by twitter with Facebook follows closely Violent Capitol Uprising.

“TRUTH Social” will be owned by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) and is expected to launch a beta version for “special guests” starting next month. The organization said in a statement that it is already available for pre-orders in Apple’s App Store.

TMTG also intends to launch a subscription video-on-demand service that will feature “non-wake-up” entertainment and will be led by executive producer Scott St. John of “Big Money” and “America’s Got Talent”. The statement said.

“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to fight the tyranny of large technology companies,” Trump quoted in a statement saying that he was banned by Twitter and Facebook for his attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

“We live in a world where the Taliban have a lot of presence on Twitter, but your favorite US president is silenced. This is unacceptable,” he continued.

The statement stated that Trump Media and Technology Group will merge with Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC), a blank check company, to make TMTG a public company.

“The initial corporate value of this transaction to Trump Media & Technology Group is US$875 million, the potential additional benefit is US$825 million (based on the valuation granted), and the cumulative valuation is up to US$1.7 billion, depending on the performance of the business after the merger. Share price,” it said.

DWAC chief Patrick Orlando said in a statement: “Considering the entire potential market and the large number of followers of President Trump, we believe that the TMTG opportunity has the potential to create significant shareholder value.”

For many years, Trump, who used Twitter as a rhetorical weapon during his presidency, has struggled with tech giants that he believes to censor him incorrectly.

The struggle for freedom of speech escalated when Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other major social media platforms in the world banned him as a punishment for inciting the mob who ransacked Congress.

Since then, Trump has been looking for a way to take back his internet loudspeaker and has initiated several lawsuits against the tech giants.

In May, he launched a blog called “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump”, which was touted as a major new media-but he took it off the Internet only a month later.

Former Trump aide Jason Miller launched a social network called Gettr earlier this year, but the Republican Party has not yet joined.

Soon after TRUTH Social’s announcement, Miller congratulated Trump on “reentering the social media arena”.

“Now Facebook and Twitter will lose more market share,” he said in a statement issued by Gettr.

Facebook banned Trump indefinitely on January 7 because of his inflammatory remarks before the Capitol Rebellion, and later reduced the ban to two years.

Due to the “risk of further inciting violence,” Twitter quickly followed up and permanently suspended Trump’s account, which had more than 88 million followers at the time.

Trump has begun to organize public events, including campaign rallies, as he seeks to maintain the status of America’s most influential Republican.

He made fun of the possibility of a presidential election in 2024, but did not announce his political future.
