Space-themed performances will feature original works by award-winning composers
Firdaus Orchestra, a pioneering all-female music ensemble led by the Academy and Grammy Award-winning composer AR Rahman, will end Dubai Space Week 2020 on Saturday, October 23. Original work by Rahman.
Starting at 7pm in the Jubilee Park of Expo 2020, Phil Daus OrchestraLed by conductor Yasmina Sabbah and representing music geniuses from all over the Arab world, they will showcase their fascinating performances during the Space Week celebrations of the World Expo.
The one-hour performance will include “Also Sprach Zarathustra”, the theme of 2001: A Space Odyssey, and music from Star Wars and ET-Adventures on Earth. It will also feature Carl Jenkins’ Palladio, Beethoven’s “Fifth Symphony” and AR Rahman’s finale performance. He will present an exclusive new work Humanitas-Proorismós-Al Amal-Composer’s Carol space for explorers. “Al Amal” means “hope” in Arabic. Fortunately, it is also the name of the first Arab mission to Mars.
AR Rahman said: “Understanding the unknown is the pursuit of life. By exploring space, we explore ourselves.”
Holders of Expo tickets who wish to participate in the opening performance of the Orchestra on Saturday should arrive as soon as possible. Due to limited venue capacity, first come first served. Tickets for the Expo can be purchased online at www.expo2020.com.
From October 17th to October 23rd, Expo 2020 Space Week Astronauts, thought leaders, and other space experts are being hosted-highlighting the latest innovations in space research and travel, and providing a platform to discuss key issues.
