UAE: AED 250,000 for disabled women after car accident-News

The woman stated that it was difficult for her to find a job after the accident and her husband separated from her.

A young woman was permanently disabled after a car accident, which also caused her husband to divorce her, and has received 250,000 dirhams in compensation.

The Civil Court of First Instance in Abu Dhabi instructed the young Arab man who drove the car that caused the accident and his mother (the second defendant in the case) to pay compensation to the woman for the physical, mental and material losses she suffered due to the crash.

Official court documents stated that the Arab woman was driving on a road in Abu Dhabi when the car she was driving collided with her car. The woman’s car deviated from the road and hit a hard object on the side of the road.

She suffered serious head injuries and fractures in different parts of her body.

Police investigation revealed that the driver who caused the accident drove his mother’s car and caused the accident due to negligence and recklessness.

The traffic court found that the young man and his mother were guilty of a car accident that violated traffic rules and injured the woman. The mother was accused of giving her car to the young man. The court documents did not know whether the young man had a driving license.

The woman subsequently filed a lawsuit against the young man and his mother, demanding compensation of 20 million dirhams for physical, mental and material damages.

She stated in the lawsuit that she was seriously injured, resulting in permanent disability and unable to live a normal life.

A medical report stated that the plaintiff suffered trauma and body fractures. She is advised to avoid lifting heavy objects, walking long distances and standing for long periods of time. The woman said that she found it difficult to find a job because of her disability due to a car accident.

She said her husband also separated from her after the car accident.

After listening to the opinions of all parties, the court ordered Dh250,000 to compensate her for the losses suffered. The defendant was also told to pay the woman’s legal fees.
