The world’s largest international passenger airline has flown smoothly and successfully for the past 36 years.

Some brands have close ties with their country. In the UAE, people first think of Emirates Airlines. The world’s largest international passenger airline, born on October 25, 1985, has been flying smoothly and successfully for the past 36 years.

Led by Emirates and Group Chairman and CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Said Al Maktoum, Dubai’s flagship airline has many industry-first achievements and Guinness World Records . Emirates started with several wet lease aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and has now developed into one of the best and newest fleets in the world. It consists of 263 wide-body aircraft and flies to more than 120 destinations. Perform passenger and cargo missions. It is the world’s largest operator of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft.

Over the past three decades, Emirates has played a very obvious role in supporting Dubai’s economy. Not only that, it has also played an important role in supporting major local sports events such as the Dubai World Cup and Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, helping Dubai get on the global map.

In addition, it also sponsors some of the world’s top sports teams, such as the Premier League club Arsenal and the T20 Cricket World Cup being held in the UAE. When the Covid-19 pandemic paralyzed the global economy, the aviation industry was no exception. Like all other major airlines in the world, Emirates’ seamless journey was also interrupted during the pandemic, resulting in the grounding of aircraft and layoffs of thousands of employees to avoid the impact. To help Emirates survive the global crisis safely, the government has injected US$3.1 billion, reflecting the importance of the airline in the local economy and its future role in the economy.

As the pandemic weakened in the UAE and globally, Emirates took off again at a brisk pace, becoming one of the fastest airlines to recover from the pandemic. To reflect its strong recovery from the pandemic, the airline plans to hire more than 6,000 employees in the next six months, as global restrictions are relaxed as vaccination rates increase.

Sheikh Ahmed said: “We have been cautiously restoring our operations to cope with the reopening of the border and the easing of travel agreements, as well as positive signs of economic recovery and continued growth in demand. We hope to return to our position. The beginning of mid-2022 is before the pandemic.” It is undeniable that the important role that Emirates plays in Dubai’s economy is bound to grow further, because it is these airlines that make the world a global village. Due to Emirates’ seamless connection to all seven continents, Dubai is one of the cities that benefit the most from this concept.
