Yas Marina Circuit showcases track modifications completed before the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi Motorsports will showcase the newly configured Yas Marina Circuit at a week-long event, including the first open. The announcement follows an extensive reconfiguration plan that aims to improve the overall racing experience of the iconic circuit.

These changes will be highlighted during the 13th daydayFor the version of FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX 2021, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen and others will have a closer wheel-to-wheel race on the new 5.28 km track. Shorter, faster laps and greater overtaking potential will provide fans with more competition opportunities.

Saif Arnaomi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Racing Sports Management, said: “This is an incredible historical moment for the Yas Marina Circuit. This is the first time since 2009 on the circuit. The first upgrade to the track since its completion. Since then, Formula One and other cars in our team have made improvements in design and performance. Therefore, we are committed to working with them to improve the races held on the track. Get the ultimate racing experience.

“These changes will expand the competitiveness of all racing events held in the stadiums, but as the race approaches, we are of course very excited to see how the actions on the new track layout during the season finale of FORMULA 1 ETIHAD next month will unfold. Company Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.”

The three key areas of the track were reorganized-the north hairpin, the south pier and the hotel part. One of the driving factors behind the changes is to increase the average speed around the track and wheel-to-wheel racing to increase the chances of drivers overtaking, thereby bringing overall motorsports to drivers and fans.

The changes in the north hairpin section of the track are the most important. The previous turns 5 and 6 have been removed, and the previous turn 7 has been widened to a 20-meter-wide curve, which will now approach at a speed of about 300 km/h. Deleting the slow bend in the deceleration curve means that the car will be closer to the straight, so that it can accelerate into the long straight faster, thereby creating more opportunities for overtaking.

Massa Point (South Pier)

The newly named Marsa Corner now has the iconic ultra-high hairpin at Yas Marina Circuit, turning speeds up to 240 km/h. Compared with the previous dock sequence consisting of low-speed corners, this exciting new corner will be an exciting challenge for drivers.

Hotel Zone

The order of the hotels may look similar, but every turn from the first 17th to the 20th turn opens on the inside. The idea here is to reduce the “Constantine effect”, that is, cars were gathered together before and then gradually separated. The previous negative camber and low-speed corners caused high tire slippage and increased tire temperature and wear. The new design is restricted by the passage below the hotel, but opening the corners should reduce tire slip, keep the drivers on the track and keep the field compact for exciting races. Overtaking here is unlikely, but by keeping close to each other, it will provide overtaking opportunities elsewhere in the circle.

The changing sequence of the three parts will have a cumulative effect and enhance the racing activities held at the venue, whether it is drivers or spectators. Drivers will now test their driving skills and opponents’ skills by giving them a new overtaking opportunity.

Mrk1 Consulting Managing Director and Circuit Design Consultant Mark Hughes added: “After nearly a year of planning with the Abu Dhabi Racing Car Management Company, it has been great to see these designs come alive in the past few months. The Yas Marina Circuit is already one of the most modern and impressive Formula One circuits in the world. These improvements will ensure that the audience will see the rich entertainment of all motorsport disciplines and provide a great opportunity for those participating in the competition. People provide exciting match tracking.”

Spectators who wish to participate in the FORMULA 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021, which will be held from December 9th to 12th, can now look forward to the first race at Yas Marina Circuit, and drivers will enjoy more overtaking Permits and modifications to the track provide additional opportunities for exciting high-speed battles.

Event tickets are now on sale and can be purchased in the following ways www.yasmarinacircuit.com.

However, this is not entirely about professionals, because guests are invited to visit the Yas Marina Circuit and have the first opportunity to drive the circuit through DriveYAS on Wednesday 10th.day In November, the first car track day of the new layout.
