Titus Ekiruand Judith Jeptum Korir wins the 2021 ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon

After the fierce competition, Titus Ekiru and Judith JeptumKorir crossed the finish line as the winners of the 2021 ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon.

The third Bronze Label Race was successfully held. More than 12,000 runners participated in six competition categories, including individual 42.2KM marathon distance and two-person marathon relay, 10KM, 5KM and 2.5KM distance, and wheelchair competition. This spectacular race allowed participants to walk along a scenic circuit, showcasing the capital’s iconic, cultural and tourist landmarks, including the founder’s monument, Qasr Al Hosn and the UAE Heritage Village.

At a special awards ceremony, the first, second and third place winners of all six categories received trophies, while all other participants also received official competition medals.

Kenyan Titus Ekiru rushed to victory with a score of 2:06:13, continuing his reign as the world’s fastest man in the 2021 marathon category. After 1 minute and 37 seconds, Alphonce Felix Simbu, a Tanzanian, followed closely, and he created a new personal best of 2:07:50. Following closely behind and finishing third in the marathon is ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2019 champion Kenyan Reuben Kiprop Kibyego (Kenyan Reuben Kiprop Kibyego, time 2:08:25.

Kenyan player Judith JeptumKorir won the women’s marathon elite group championship with a time of 2:22:30, breaking his personal best by more than 5 minutes. Eunice ChebichiiChumba of Bahrain took second place and crossed the finish line with a time of 2.26.01, while the third place in the marathon was Immaculate Chemutai, who won 2:28:30.

The Moroccan players YassirEchChaachoui and Hajiba Hasnaoui won the men’s and women’s 10km category with 29 minutes 55 seconds and 36 minutes 27 seconds respectively, followed by Ismail El Kharchi and Yenenesh Desu, ranked second for men and women, and MohamedCha, ranked third. Osama Mohamedi and Mohamed Chaachoui.

Ayed Alahbabi, the Emirati representing the Alain Club for People of Determination, completed the wheelchair category with an amazing 1:35:13, followed by Badir Al Hosani from the UAE and Ali Al Saadi from Oman.

The event had more than 12,000 participants from the city and more. Runners from different backgrounds in remote areas are committed to maintaining enhanced physical health. We congratulate the winners and participants in all categories and commend them for their resilience in completing this historic race.”

Andrea Trabuio, Tournament Director, Said: “Today, we ended another successful ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, and achieved comprehensive results. After his historic victory, Titus Ekiru Said: “Although my pacemaker quit early, I am very proud of winning the race this morning. The track is beautiful. Thank you to the organizer for inviting me to the capital to participate in such a wonderful race. I look forward to defending my championship next year. title.”

Judith Jeptum CorellExpressing her excitement of winning the 2021 ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, she said: “Although the track is full of challenges, I am extremely proud of my ability to set a new personal record of 2:22:30. I am very happy to participate. For the third ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, I thank Abu Dhabi for welcoming me for such an unforgettable experience.”
