The next spotlight performance of regional artists is: Tamtam

[ad_1]

Flash Entertainment continues its regional artist spotlight program to support regional music talent…

Saudi Arabian singer and songwriter Tamtam is based in Los Angeles and Riyadh. When she was only 13 years old, she moved to California because her parents wanted her to see the world differently. Since then, Tamtam has been turning all her life experiences into her passion, and through her passion, honesty and anti-genre music has become a symbolic bridge between the Middle East and the West.

From helping to promote the Saudi breast cancer awareness organization founded by Princess Reema bin Bandar, to writing articles about becoming a female artist in Saudi Arabia, Tamtam continues to shed light on the topic in her heart…

Latest News: How did you first come into contact with music?

Tantam: When I was young, I always listened to Western music. At around 11 o’clock, I found my voice. I started taking phonetic lessons and participated in school musicals. Then, during a summer vacation in university, I met a family friend, Zahed Sultan. He is the producer I founded
Work with…I released my first song at that time Little girl.

WO: How would you describe the music you make?

: I like to make music that connects the pop music and hip-hop world with trap elements and Arabic instruments.

WO: Which artists or characters inspired you?

: Some of the artists I am really inspired by are Banks, Post Malone, Lana Del Rey, Aeris Roves and Fairuz (always).

WO: What is your recent musical achievement?

: Just to name a few, post my singles and videos Ismark, Performed at the 2020 Dubai Expo and participated in the XP Music Conference in Riyadh this month.

WO: What is your creative process like?

: I like to sit at the piano and write. When I first started writing and making music, I didn’t play any instruments. I will sing the lyrics with the melody that comes to my mind, and then record the songs I like. Working with producers in the studio is a somewhat different process. They usually start the beat based on the atmosphere we want and the inspiration we play with each other, and then I write the melody on it.

WO: What is the biggest obstacle in your career?

: I am completely satisfied with my identity and confidently share with the world. It is normal to worry about what others might say or feel, but I have been trying to focus myself on listening to my body and intuition when making decisions. This has changed everything for me, and I hope my story can help people adapt to themselves. I know that if everyone pays attention to their intuition, the world will become better and more peaceful.

WO: Where have you performed and what is your favorite?

: Kuwait Rising is a great music festival I attended. The energy is crazy, the crowd sings together, it’s so beautiful. I have also performed several times at The Peppermint Club and Hotel Café in Los Angeles-they are really interesting. This year’s performance at Expo 2020 Dubai is also an incredible experience.

WO: What have you released recently?

: My latest version Ismark It’s a song about accepting all parts of yourself and embracing your identity, no matter what.

Earlier this year, my song on Dioscures was called Back to, This is one of my favorite songs. It’s about following your passion without losing home or peace.

Before that, I released a song called Heartache Cooperated with Saud, a producer from Saudi Arabia during the pandemic. It’s about the whole world being sick and learning to heal.

WO: Which of these editions do you like best?

: Ismark It is my favorite so far, and I am very happy that next year EP will appear with my other new songs. These songs mean a lot to me, because the lyrics are honest and personal. In this project, I work with incredible people who inspire me to dig deeper and raise my voice.I want to thank my creative director Mohamed Sqalli, music producer Malca, and the video director behind Night blue, Co-authored by stylist Latifa Bint Saad, Deema Sabbagh and Sacha Ismark With me, my manager and team Yanin Gonzalez and Mohamed Sqalli. More people have contributed to this project-I feel very lucky.

WO: Do you currently collaborate with other artists? Do you have any dream collaborations?

: Now, I am focusing on my distribution, but I have worked with great artists such as Dioscures and Shobee, and I hope to have more collaborations with them. Malca, who made EP songs, is also an artist, and I like working with him. The other producers involved are Luke Walton and Brandon Woodward-they are in a band called Fein, and I hope to continue working with them. I am very lucky, because working with these creatives has become a dream come true. Working with The Weeknd, Lana Del Rey, Post Malone will also be a dream… just to name a few.

WO: Describe an ordinary day?

: Wake up, pray/meditation, have a cup of coffee. I try to exercise at least four times a week. Then I responded to the email and had breakfast. I take phonetics lessons and practice piano. If I want to perform, I will practice in front of the mirror (the more comfortable you perform in front of yourself, the better your ability to perform in front of others). I have meetings on some days. On other days, I have writing or studio classes.

WO: What are your other interests?

: outdoor. I like hiking, skiing and surfing. I just like doing things outside and admiring nature. Even simple things, such as walking in any city where I live, and discovering new places.

WO: What does your participation in the regional artist spotlight mean to you?

: I am very honored. For me, this means that I can share my music and information with more people in the Middle East, which gives me the opportunity to have a deeper connection with my audience.

WO: What is your favorite post-party playlist?
