Canadian performers Aviva Chernick, La Serena Trio and Maryem Tollar brought delightful songs to the audience at Expo 2020 Dubai in a performance at the Israel Pavilion on Sunday, December 5. In a beautiful cultural diplomatic exchange, the event marked the 8th night of Hanukkah (Jewish Miracle Day) and commemorated the UAE at the Golden Jubilee.
This unique orchestra was brought to the UAE from Canada and was given to the UAE as a musical gift on the occasion of the UAE’s 50th National Day. They played in Hebrew and Latin (Chernik) and Arabic (Toral) song.
The concert was held in cooperation with the Israeli Jewish Institution, Israel Pavilion, Canadian National Art Center and Canada Pavilion in the UAE. It was held outside the Israel Pavilion and ended a diversified night in the music celebration.
Prior to the concert, the Canada Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai held an inclusive celebration with guests from multiple countries and faiths to enjoy the traditional lighting experience of Chanukah Candelabra, and with the obvious Canadian Flares share a meal.
