The Active Parks initiative is at the core of DCD’s ongoing efforts to promote sports and physical activity throughout the community.Run December 30dayTo 26dayIn January in 12 parks and urban spaces in the emirate, a four-week fitness participation and education program will allow dozens of qualified coaches to lead the community to provide more than 380 free courses for anyone 15 years and older.

In the one-month Active Parks program, the community will be able to participate in a variety of fun and healthy activities, including DanceFit, RunFit, training camps, CrossFit and yoga, and provide special courses for determined people. A complete course schedule is available on the Active Parks website (www.addcd.gov.ae), and participants can share their progress by using #ActiveParks on social media.
Active Parks will span more than a dozen parks and urban spaces, including Madinat Zayed, Al Ruwais Park 2, and Al Mirfa National Park in Al Dhafra; Al Jahili and Al Towayya Parks in Al Ain; and Kazakhstan in Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas. Lifa City Park 3, Shekha Fatima Park, Dolphin Park, MBZ Park, Al Khaleej Al Arabi Park, Electra Park and Al Shamkha Park4.
As Active Parks capitalizes on a series of community parks and urban infrastructure investments in the emirate, this progressive initiative underscores the Abu Dhabi government’s commitment to promoting active lifestyles and healthy habits in accordance with World Health Organization guidelines, which encourage Adults participate in at least 150 minutes of physical exercise per week to improve physical and mental health.
