du and IDC highlight digital government transformation at Abu Dhabi roundtable

du from the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Corporation (EITC) today moderated a senior executives roundtable entitled “Powering the Future of Government Today”. The roundtable was held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and was attended by top executives from UAE government agencies.

A welcome speech from du CTO, Saleem AlBlooshi, was followed by a keynote address by Ranjit Rajan, Vice President, Middle East and Africa Research (META) at IDC. Jasim Al Awadi, Head of Government and Key Accounts at du, and Roula Shahab, Senior Industry Head, Telecommunications, Media and Energy at Microsoft Emirates, gave forward-looking presentations on advanced technologies and 5G use cases and the role of innovation in meeting future challenges.

The event highlighted the UAE government’s drivers of digital transformation and the potential of technology to enhance future growth potential. An exclusive panel discussion moderated by Krishna Chinta, IDC Middle East and Africa Telecommunications and IoT Program Manager, highlighted the power of digital technologies to transform the way the public sector operates and serves customers, and provides government leaders with strategic advancements to accelerate them.

The roundtable was attended by representatives from various government entities, including UAE Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance (DOF), Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Authority (ADAFSA), Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Abu Dhabi Ministry of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Abu Dhabi Police, Department of Economic Development (DED), Department of Municipalities and Transport, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), General Directorate of Civil Aviation ( GCAA) ) and the National Data Center under the Supreme Council of National Security, etc.
