Through the good friendship that exists between Seychelles and the UAE, the two countries hope to further consolidate the partnership by implementing various projects of mutual interest.
Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, is currently on an official visit to the Seychelles on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. a key project.
Accompanied by Mr. Billy Rangasamy, Minister of Lands and Housing, he visited the Orchid Residence in the Grand Anse district of Mahe Island.
The visit provided an opportunity for the two ministers to see for themselves what has been done so far and to discuss new possibilities for expanding the project. Due to the presence of key institutions and technical staff, the visit also provided an opportunity to present any technical challenges that need to be addressed in the future.
The UAE Minister then toured the wind turbines at Ile du Port. He was welcomed by PUC Board Chairman Mr. Lenny Alvis, Chief Executive Officer Joel Valmont, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Bradburn and Mr. Sunassee. He was given a technical explanation of how the project could help generate electricity in the country.
The two projects were largely realized through grants from the Abu Dhabi government and managed by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.
After the visit, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, on behalf of the UAE government, reiterated the UAE’s commitment and further active support for the socio-economic development of Seychelles.
The minister will be the guest of honor at a military parade to be held on Sunday to mark the 46th anniversary of our independence, which is also the country’s national day.
