Lenskart and Noon.com forge major e-commerce partnership

Asia’s largest eyewear retailer, Lenskart, has announced a partnership with Noon.com, the region’s leading online shopping site, as part of the eyewear brand’s expansion in the Middle East.

Lenskart only entered the area last year, opening its first store in Dubai Festival City Mall, and has since expanded rapidly in retail with stores in BurJuman Mall and Ibn Battuta Mall, Dalma Mall in Abu Dhabi and Ibn Battuta Mall The Bawadi Mall in En. The brand also plans to open 20 stores in the UAE by March 2023.

Launched in Saudi Arabia and the UAE in December 2017, Noon has grown exponentially in the region since then, becoming the first Middle Eastern e-commerce retailer that Lenskart has partnered with. The eyewear company decided to distribute its products on the local platform as it hopes to strengthen its presence in the e-commerce space and attract new customers in the region.

A true omnichannel brand

Sudhir Syal, Chief Commercial Officer, Lenskart said: “Noon has established itself as a major player in the market and for Lenskart this is a step towards establishing us as a true omnichannel brand that is available for consumption users across multiple touchpoints.”

Madhur Acharya, Lenskart’s VP of eCommerce, said: “Having a presence on a platform as strong as Noon will allow us to tap into the regional eyewear business and will be a great way to showcase our tech-enabled products. Noon will be the first launch that Lenskart will launch. A regional e-commerce platform that underscores the brand’s confidence and our commitment to the Middle East market.”

The UAE’s e-commerce market is expected to grow 60% from 2021 to more than $8 billion by 2025, according to a survey by EZDubai and Euromonitor International, which also found that last year around three-quarters of UAE respondents in Online Shopping.

Rapid expansion of eyewear category

“The online and midday eyewear category is expanding rapidly. We aim to be a big part of this growth,” Syal added.

Lenskart will bring a range of stylish premium eyewear from its in-house fashion brands, including John Jacobs and Vincent Chase. Customers can also use Lenskart’s innovative BLU computer lens, which shines in the work-from-home era and is ideal for those who need blue-light blocking technology to protect their eyes from the light emitted by the screen. – – arab trade news agency
