Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has chosen Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, to be photographed for Country Living magazine.

The 74-year-old royal is a guest editor for this month’s edition, and from the moment she agreed to work with the outlet, she knew exactly who she wanted to work with on the cover.

The ‘very relaxing’ picture of Camilla in the garden of her private home in Lacock, Wiltshire, Lemiere, sits on a bench, wearing a blue and white floral dress and cardigan, Hands on a row of flowers.

The magazine’s editor, Mark Hedges, revealed that Camilla had asked her if she could “try” guest editor Country Life – which her husband Prince Charles has done twice before – not too long ago.

When it was agreed that she would be in charge of the July issue, senior staff visited her at Clarence House for a meeting to discuss topics including the cover.

Mark told the Daily Telegraph: “She immediately replied, ‘Oh, I very much wish Catherine did that.’

“For the next three or four minutes, I was desperately racking my brains thinking about a professional photographer named Katherine.

“Then I suddenly understood what she meant – it was one of the most amazing things that could happen. I found it was one of the easier things to nod.”

The editor is happy with the result of the shot.

He said: “I don’t think anyone else would have made her feel so relaxed.

“They didn’t pay too much attention to the hair and makeup, they just bought some flowers for the garden and they started.”

The source revealed that Catherine, who regularly takes family photos of her husband Prince William and their three children, which are posted to mark special occasions, was very involved in the process and put a lot of “thought and hard work into the shoot.” ” and communicate with magazines about the kind of shots they want.

Camilla has the final say on what will appear on the cover, as well as a second photo on her lead page in the garden walking through forget-me-nots, but she took advantage of Katherine and Charles’ advice.

Mark believes the special edition of the magazine to mark the Duchess’ impending 75th birthday will show her in a whole new light

He said: “It showcased her interest and enthusiasm in an unprecedented way.

“I don’t think the Duchess has ever revealed so much about herself.”
