Adopt-A-Street
The City of Destin’s Adopt-A-Street program allows local families, businesses and community groups to provide valuable community services by adopting street sections to remove trash and debris. Groups participating in the program will list their names on the city’s website and install signage on the streets they adopt. summer fireworks
Okaloosa continues its summer fireworks collection. The show begins every Wednesday through August 10 at 9 p.m. on the boardwalk at 1450 Miracle Blvd in Fort Walton Beach. Organisers recommend it as a dinner and show with front-row views from any of The Boardwalk’s restaurants, or for a quick bite to spread out along the beach and watch the fireworks go off from the pier.
ocean story time of possibility
The Cuddlers and Toddlers storytime of the Destin Library series continues every other Thursday July 7th and July 21st at 10:30am at Captain Leonard Destin Park at 101 Calhoun Ave. They are suitable for ages 0-3 but are open to all children. Alternating Thursdays, they’re at the Destin Library at 150 Seabert Ave.
The theme of this summer’s reading is “Possible Oceans,” and come hear stories about ocean monsters, marine wildlife, and other aquatic wonders. There will also be finger games, stretches and ocean-themed yoga fun. Feel free to bring a blanket or mat to participate.

Children’s night
Destin Kids Night will be held on Wednesday, July 15th from 6-9pm at the Destin Community Center at 101 Stahlman Ave. The kids will have an evening full of games, crafts, food and lots of fun.

paint like an artist
3rd Planet Brewing’s second annual Painting Like an Artist Summer Art Series features a sip-n-paint style session based on masterpieces.
The last class is July 18th at 6pm, featuring Salvador Dali’s “The Perception of Memory”.

ECTC storm
Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s “The Tempest,” a family-friendly comedy, runs Thursday through July 28 at Grand Park at 495 Miramar Beach Boulevard from 8-9pm. Travel through the storm to a magical island full of scaly murlocs, woodland elves and a powerful wizard pulling all the strings. Sit in the splash zone and experience the action up close – if you dare!
The show is free and open to the public. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating. If it rains, “The Tempest” will play at the Emerald Coast Theatre Company upstairs in the 560 Grand Boulevard building.
Alvarado concert
The Alvarado Road Show will feature live music at Lulu’s Destin at 4607 Legendary Esplanade in Destin on July 6th from 5-9pm. The bandleaders are singer/bassist/guitarist Cleve Clark and singer/guitarist AJ Clark. The brothers wrote and played deeply ingrained American music about life, love, and relationships.
Avenue Farmers Market
The Grand Boulevard Farmers Market is held every Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at Grand Park in the heart of Grand Boulevard, South Walton. Bring your shopping bag for local produce, eggs, jams and pies. Homemade soaps, good olive oils and pickled stuff are all available.
Rosemary Beach Farmers Market
Visit the 30A Farmers Market in Rosemary Beach on Sundays from 9am-1pm. The local farmers market is held year-round on Sundays and Thursdays throughout the summer at North Barrett Square in Scenic 30A.
Taylor Dane concert rescheduled
The Marty Kelly Foundation for the Arts (MKAF) has announced that Taylor Dayne’s concert scheduled for Thursday, May 26 has been postponed to a later date due to inclement weather. Due to the impending bad weather and for safety and logistical reasons (setup/concert preparation). The concert has been postponed until Thursday, October 13th. Tickets will automatically transfer to this new date.
