Jaguar Land Rover announces the appointment of Barbara Bergmeier to the newly created position of Executive Director Industrial Operations on the board of Jaguar Land Rover Limited.
Effective today, Bergmeier will lead Jaguar Land Rover’s new industrial operations organization, which consolidates responsibilities currently dispersed across manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain teams. The change cements responsibility for a complete ecosystem of how companies produce vehicles in one place.
A key priority will be to rapidly transform this reconfigured organisation and Jaguar Land Rover’s strong, sustainable end-to-end supply chain as part of a fully connected industrial strategy. Bergmeier joins Jaguar Land Rover from Airbus Defence and Space as Executive Vice President and Head of Operations. Bergmeier previously worked for the BMW Group for nearly 25 years in international positions including Vice President Chassis and Drive Components and Vice President Assembly and Logistics.
Bergmeier has more than 30 years of multinational experience in manufacturing, supply chain and supplier relations in the global automotive and aerospace industries, with an extensive background in OEM as well as tier 1 and internal supplier environments. Her diverse perspectives will allow Bergmeier to build strong supplier relationships and cement Jaguar Land Rover’s position as a customer of choice.
Bergmeier’s track record demonstrates his focus on quality and sustainability and will play a key role in accelerating Jaguar Land Rover’s Reimagine strategy. A sustainable supply chain is critical for the company to achieve its Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) goals of reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions by 46% by 2030 and achieving net zero carbon across supply chains, products and operations by 2039 emission.
