UAE Consul General in New York visits CHOP

On June 28, 2022, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) welcomed His Excellency Amna Binzaal Almheiri, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in New York, observing the world-class experience that patients in her country have gained at CHOP. The visit celebrates the long-standing partnership between CHOP and the UAE in improving paediatric care.

During the visit, HE Almheiri met with CHOP leadership and visited Emirati patients who have turned to CHOP for care. CHOP leadership also discussed excellence in translational research and innovation driven by CHOP’s physician scientists.

During the day, HE Almheiri met with Steve Docimo, MD, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Strategy; Ruth Frey, MSNVice President of Global Strategy and Business Development; Trud Heck, MDthe Medical Director of Global Patient Services at CHOP; and Jim Callahan, MDCHOP Global Patient Education Medical Director.

Several CHOP doctors also met with HE Almeheiri, including Dennis Delugos, MDCHOP Director Epilepsy Program, Jesse Taylor, MDDirector of Plastic Surgery, and Jack Rychik, MDdirector Fetal Heart Program. Mayssam Latif, Consultant for Cultural Affairs, Consulate General of the UAE in New York, visited with HE Almeirhi.
