Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy launches region’s first comprehensive maritime logistics certificate

The Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA), the maritime education and training arm of AD Ports Group, today announced the launch of the Maritime Logistics Certificate, the first comprehensive certificate module in the region to allow trainees to work in a wide range of maritime economics and shipping industries.

The certificate consists of four core/compulsory modules including Introduction to Shipping, Economics of Maritime Transport and International Trade, Shipping Operations and Legal Principles of Shipping Operations. These core units provide the foundation for learners to study a fifth specialisation from the following twelve specialisation units: port agency, liner trading, dry cargo chartering, tanker chartering, port and terminal management, ship buying and selling, logistics and intermodal transport Shipping, ship operations and management, marine insurance, shipping law, shipping finance and offshore support industries.

Dr Yasser Al Wahedi, Director of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, said: “We are proud to launch this certificate, the first of its kind in the region, designed to provide learners with knowledge, skills and knowledge in marine economics and marine economics. Competency. The shipping industry plans and implements cross-solutions, tackles complex issues and performs various functions independently without guidance.

“The certificate is recognised by the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers (ICS) and is designed to meet the needs of newcomers to the maritime logistics industry who need to acquire new skills and knowledge for better employment opportunities, And those who are currently working in these industries and want to take their skills and knowledge to a higher level,” he added.

The certificate program spans 600 hours and includes 450 hours of classroom/online instruction, 150 hours of assignments, case studies, and 30 weeks of presentations. Holders of a bachelor’s degree in any subject, or at least twelve years of structured education or advanced (A-Level) or equivalent educational standards are eligible to apply to the programme. Upon successful completion of four mandatory modules and one specialist in 12 listed modules, a Certificate in Maritime Logistics is awarded by ADMA and recognised by the Ministry of Education.
