The UAE is hosting the second edition of the Industry 4.0 and AI Industrial Leaders Training Programme, which aims to provide the country’s top business professionals with practical skills to use artificial intelligence to support industrial growth.

The four-day programme is being offered by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The ministry said it provides policymakers with the necessary technical knowledge to harness the power of artificial intelligence in industry and aims to enhance the nation’s industrial capabilities through Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies.

“Part of our mission is to help national industrial companies unlock the full potential of 4IR solutions by bringing together the public, private and academic sectors,” said Mohammed Al Qasim, director of technology adoption and development at the ministry.

“By equipping industrial leaders with skills and knowledge, we are enhancing the country’s industrial capacity and accelerating its transformation.

“These trainings are only part of our broader strategy to promote the adoption of advanced technologies and increase the industrial sector’s contribution to the country’s GDP [gross domestic product]. “

As part of the Top 50 project, the Ministry’s Industry 4.0 initiative launched last year aims to accelerate the integration of 4IR solutions and applications such as cloud, artificial intelligence and IoT in the country’s industrial sector.

The plan aims to boost manufacturing by 30 percent by 2031 and add 25 billion dirhams ($6.8 billion) to the country’s economy.

The ministry said that the objectives of the training program are aligned with the Industry 4.0 initiative.

Participants included leaders from various industry verticals who were asked to pose four industry challenges and create solutions using Industry 4.0 and AI technologies.

Sultan Al Hajji, Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations, Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, said: “Projects like this are helping leaders understand the importance of AI systems in improving the quality of industrial inputs and enhancing regional and international competitiveness. “intelligence.

“AI today has a major impact on every industry, from product development to manufacturing to service delivery and policymaking.

“According to the UAE’s AI Strategy, AI has become an integral tool to achieve national priorities and vision to become a world leader in AI by 2031.”

Experts from the UAE Office of Artificial Intelligence, the ministry, universities, telecommunications company e&, energy services company Schneider Electric and consumer goods company Unilever provided input for this year’s training programme, the statement added.
