The fifth edition of the Construction Technology Festival (CTF) came to a successful conclusion in Dubai, with key regional heavyweights in architecture, engineering and construction discussing key industry issues.
Held at the Address Hotel in Dubai Marina, the CTF brought together over 500 leading industry experts to focus on digitalisation and sustainability and the use of new age technologies such as digital twins, Internet of Things (IoT), drones and Metaverse.
Organisers said some of the main highlights of the event were the session with more than 150 speakers, the launch of the PropTech Festival and the ConTech Awards.
150+ renowned speakers
Influential speakers at these sessions included senior officials from Red Sea Development Corporation, Roshn, Dubai Municipality, Damac Properties, Deyaar, Saudi Aramco, who discussed key issues related to changing industry practices, including digital transformation , virtual architecture, modern construction methods.
These regional heavyweights also discussed decarbonizing the built environment, ways to move to the cloud, and more fascinating topics.
During the two-day event, participants enjoyed networking and also took advantage of the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals.
The CTF also hosted the inaugural PropTech Festival, bringing the entire value chain together to focus on how to better scale technology across disciplines.
Attendees focused on digital asset management, property management, facilities and community management, learning how digital innovation can increase asset value, reduce operating costs and provide a better experience for end users.
Explore 10+ digital disciplines
The festival delved into more than 10 digital disciplines, including solutions for digital twins, Internet of Things (IoT), drones, machine learning, Metaverse, gamification, ERP implementation and more.
On the festival’s final day, Katie Briggs, CTF programming director and partner at b2b Connect, said: “It was a pleasure hosting, presenting and engaging with digital advocates in the AEC industry.”
“CTF is firmly establishing itself as the region’s annual platform to help industry collaborate to deliver assets faster, greener and more cost-effectively,” she added.

A key highlight is the 2022 Construction Technology Awards, which recognise first-class people, projects and organisations that are embracing and benefiting from digitalisation and sustainability. The winners of the different categories are:

Sam Stacey, Director of UK Research and Innovation at the ISCF Challenge and one of the award’s independent judges, praised the winners, saying: “Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Construction Technology Awards.
