Sir Ringo Starr is ‘sure’ that Boris Johnson will find another job.
The Beatles drummer believes the prime minister will move on after stepping down as leader of the Conservative Party and wishes Boris all the best for life after Downing Street – although he refuses to discuss Britain’s political crisis.
“I didn’t say anything about Boris Johnson,” Ringo said at an event in Los Angeles to celebrate his 82nd birthday.
“God bless him, I’m sure he’ll get another job.”
The musician explained that he is more concerned with gun violence and hatred in “any country” around the world.
Ringo gave his signature peace sign, explaining: “We’re here to (spread peace and love) … and that’s all I can do.
“I can’t force anyone to go ‘peace and love,’ but it’s trending.”
Last year, Ringo criticized world leaders for not doing enough on environmental issues and did get into politics.
The star, who has been committed to an eco-friendly lifestyle for decades, said: “Change the world” and we’re changing it for kids. Half the world is on fire and half is underwater.
“They’re still saying, ‘Well, we’re not going to do that’. I think we have to do a lot. So, I want to change the world for kids.
“I do wonder about politicians, do they have kids? Do their kids have kids? It’s not enough to let us breathe, let’s find water. You’ve got me on my high now.”
