How did you get involved with Hill’s Pet Nutrition and the Clear the Shelters movement?
It was a match made in heaven as my fiancée and I were both passionate about it. When I met my fiancée Tay, she already had a dog named Lily and she rescued it.Lily becomes mine in an instant best friend. She started sending me pictures of puppies at the local shelter…then she sent me a picture of Remy and I fell for her hearing her and her seven siblings and their mom when they were little A story of being abandoned in a field as a dog. I was like, “Yeah, we need to pick her up now.”
So we rescued Remi this time last year, and the two of them together completely changed our lives, which is why I’m partnering with Hill’s Pet Nutrition to support this month’s Clear the Shelters event on NBCUniversal Local, which I’m so passionate about.

Is Remy your first rescue?
Yes, technically, Remy was my first rescue. Lily was originally Thai. But I have to jump in. But Remy was my first personal rescue.
What advice would you give someone looking to adopt a dog?
Suffice it to say that now more than ever, you know, animals at our local shelters can use adoption because more animals are coming in in the last five months of the year – a lot more coming in than going out .

What has been the most rewarding part to you about being a pet parent?
I think you and every adopted person hear it, but it’s so true – like Remy being the happiest dog in the world, you can almost feel how grateful they are. This is by far the most rewarding part for me, just feeling from her how much she loves us and how much she loves this life. Honestly, it makes me want to live like that more.
I’ve seen the video of your fiancée Tyler’s childhood crush, it’s hilarious. What was your reaction when you saw it?
I love it. I love it because it’s so funny and because it’s real. She is not for the video. she-used to be! — The stubborn Edward team. So yeah, I was like, “This sounds like an incredible video, and you should definitely do it.” Yeah, people responded well, but I’m happy to say I’ve changed her . Yes, this may be an unexpected answer, but what I actually always die to bring back is that I made a movie called ridiculous 6 with my friend Adam Sandler and some other friends. I played a character named Lil Pete in it. It was a very, very interesting experience and a crazy character. It’s the one I always think back to, “I’d love to play Lil Pete again.”
