Kate Greville, 36, claims Giggs, 48, controlled her, attacked her and “ignited” her in their relationship, which escalated to the point where she felt she needed to leave the UK.

“Then I found out he didn’t,” she told police in court. “It went on for about nine months and then I decided he wasn’t going to break up with Stacey, it wasn’t going to happen. I lived in Abu Dhabi to get away from him.”

Ms Greville, who works for a public relations firm hired by Giggs, said she feared for her job after the former footballer suggested her role could be in jeopardy, saying he threatened to tell her boss about their Secret romance.

Rumors about their relationship started at her workplace, but she lied about it because she was “ashamed of me seeing a married man”.

“I decided to leave Abu Dhabi, people would talk about it at work, and my boss sat me down and asked me directly if something had happened,” Ms Greville said.

“It’s affecting my work and it’s not good for me.”

At some point in their volatile relationship, Ms Greville stopped speaking to Mr Giggs and ignored his calls and messages.

Ms Greville told police he showed up at her flat, but she ignored him again and he yelled: “You’re a whore. Is there anyone in you?”

The court heard the incident became public in May 2016 and Ms Greville described the turning point as “horrific” as she was “hunted” by the paparazzi.

It was still an on and off relationship, and for a while she refused to speak to him.

“Literally, it’s like I’m addicted to him. I can’t get him out of my head.”

Giggs flew to Dubai and tried to convince Ms Greville to take him back. “Let’s start a family, you’re the only one I want to be with,” he said to her.

“Then he came home and I found out he was dating another girl. I was totally devastated,” she said.

He denies he cheated on her and she “gives him another chance” as he urges her to move back to Manchester with him to have a baby.

“It was like he was almost two people,” she said. “It’s like ‘Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy?

“I started to feel terrible anxiety.”

She described an altercation with him, which included allegedly he kicked her out of a hotel room and left her trapped in a hallway naked.

She said Giggs “turned over”, grabbed her wrist “hardly” and “dragged” her naked body across the floor before throwing her belongings down the hallway.

Ms Greville said she was “humiliated and embarrassed” when she found herself unclothed in the hallway.

He didn’t speak to her when she got back to bed, she said.

“That was the first time he was aggressive towards me,” she said.
