From Friday, August 12th
PACA is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a three-day free celebration of theatre, music, dance, comedy, poetry, film, fashion, art auctions and more. Erie’s Performing Arts Collective Alliance not only supports the entrepreneurial efforts of emerging artists and produces award-winning theaters, but is also revitalizing historic downtown properties and bringing labor and tourism dollars into the heart of Erie. If you haven’t been, PACApalooza is the perfect time to taste all of PACA.
Located in the Meyer Building at 1505 State St., PACA is home to more than 30 artist tenants, including sculptors, photographers, painters, craftsmen and musicians of all types, who will open their doors to visitors for the event. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and will be visited throughout the weekend.
“We want to thank the Erie community for Erie Giving Day. It’s such a big day for nonprofits, and Erie as a whole has always been so generous in supporting the arts,” said Char Newport, PACA Administrative Manager. “There is something for everyone at PACAPalooza – poetry, fashion show, comedy, drama and music. We will also be screening two films by local filmmakers. Sunday is our art auction, We have many gift baskets available for raffles for generous donations from local businesses, and we will be live-streaming the drawings on Sunday.”
