[ad_1]

Any cricket country has the harshest penalties for violating the anti-coronavirus bubble

Sri Lanka on Friday imposed a one-year international ban on three top cricket players who violated Covid-19 regulations during the England Tour.

Prior to the one-day international match against England, deputy captain Kusar Mendes, opener Danushka Gunasilaka and goalkeeper Niroshan Dikweila ordered after being eliminated in Durham. Long-term suspension and a fine of $50,000.

Any cricket country has the most severe punishment for violating the anti-coronavirus bubble, and the anti-coronavirus bubble has now become a standard practice in international sports.

This is also a major new blow for this team that has been in a state of turmoil on and off the court in recent months.

The board of directors ordered a two-year ban on international cricket matches for the three, but was suspended for one year. They will also be unable to participate in domestic cricket matches for six months and will be suspended for two years after the ban is completed.

An investigative committee led by a retired judge recommended a two-year ban on 26-year-old Mendis and 30-year-old Gunasi Laka, and a ban on 28-year-old goalkeeper batsman Dikwella for 18 months. However, the fine is twice the recommended amount.

The three were convicted of violating Covid 19 guidelines and “endangering the safety of the aforementioned players, team members and others participating in the aforementioned tournament.”

They were also punished for violating the team hotel’s 10:30 p.m. curfew and “bringing reputation to the Sri Lanka cricket team and the country”.

They can file a complaint with the board of directors, and then file a complaint with the minister of the country.

The three were suspended and repatriated from England on June 28.
