Azadi Arts Festival is held on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi is organising an arts festival to mark India’s 75th Independence Day. The Azadi Arts Festival is a three-day arts event that will celebrate Indian art and artists in a unique way, starting August 13, and Artcrafts is the one-stop art destination for art lovers.
Founder and CEO Anil Kejriwal said: “Indian art is being respected and amazed by the rest of the world. The depth of Indian art has been the subject of many people’s research. It’s because we bring versatility into our creative fields. Our artists and their work are diverse in many ways but united in representing the true spirit of India. We are very proud to have brought so many artworks and artists together under one roof.”
The Embassy’s Arts Festival will showcase the children’s best work from an inter-school competition held at Dunes International School in Abu Dhabi in June. Apart from works by the Indian diaspora, the festival will also feature works by Indian artists. Their work has been shipped to the UAE for the exhibition, which opens on August 13th at 10am. This is a free-to-attend event.
More than 50 artists participated in the festival, and visitors will have an art time where they can see live paintings, listen to different speakers, and participate in art workshops for adults and children. Children will have their own activities which will earn them medals and t-shirts as prizes for participation.
The Azadi Festival will end on August 15th with the closing ceremony at 3pm. All prizes will be distributed by Artcrafts in the presence of prominent individuals.
