Rosie O’Donnell makes cameo appearance in new series their own alliance, available today on Amazon Prime Video. Here, she makes a cameo appearance as Vi, the drag owner of a local bar and a passionate fan of the Rockford Peaches, the all-girls baseball team at the center of the storyline.

O’Donnell’s character is just one of the new elements of the series, which includes lesbian and non-binary characters.

Catcher Carson, played by series co-creator Abbi Jacobson, falls in love with teammate Greta, played by D’Arcy Carden.

Chanté Adams plays Max, an African-American woman who, despite being a talented athlete, was initially banned from team games because of her race.

Expect a whole new cast of characters and far less laughs than in the movie. The series takes a more realistic look at the struggles of women of all races, gender identities and classes to find a place for themselves during the tense times of World War II.

Peter Finch as Oscar Wilde and John Fraser as his young lover Percy, from the 1960 trial of Oscar Wilde.

Blu-ray version The Trial of Oscar Wilde Released earlier this week by Kino Lober, this is an absolute must-have for any fan of LGBTQ movies.

The story may seem bland by today’s standards, but when it was released in 1960, it was scandalous. It follows Wilde, a well-known gay playwright who was implicated at the time with a young aristocrat who was prosecuted for gross indecency and sodomy.

Writer/director Ken Hughes has a hard time casting anyone in the lead role. Actor Peter Finch eventually took over the role — but not without some qualms. “I was terrified of being stiff,” Finch reportedly said at the time. The role of Wilde’s young lover, Lord Alfred Douglas, commonly known as Percy, is played by John Fraser.

Half love story, half court drama, The Trial of Oscar Wilde A fascinating, controversial take on the most infamous legal battle of the late 19th century.
