Celebrations to be held at Abu Dhabi embassies, consulates and Pakistan Association in Dubai

To celebrate its 75th Independence Day, the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai has arranged a number of events to commemorate this special day.
Independence Day on August 14th is a national holiday in Pakistan. It commemorates the country’s independence and declaration as a sovereign state following the end of British colonial rule in 1947.
The UAE’s celebrations will include three flag-raising ceremonies across the country – one at the Pakistani embassy in Abu Dhabi; a second at the Pakistani Consulate-General in Dubai; and one at the Pakistani Navy ship PNS Zulfiqar in Dubai. Special flag raising.
Hassan Afzal Khan, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, said: “I am delighted to extend my heartiest congratulations to my compatriots in the UAE. A series of celebrations have been arranged across the UAE to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
“Pakistan has achieved many milestones over the past 75 years, and her greatest strength remains the Pakistani people. I urge my compatriots to keep the Pakistani flag flying with dedication and hard work.”
The consulate arranged a unique photo exhibition and flag raising ceremony. The Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi organized a special cultural performance for school children and community members.
“It will be a fun-filled morning event showing patriotism and love for Pakistan,” said a statement from the delegation.
In addition, the Dubai Pakistan Association is also planning a series of activities. On 14th August, a special event titled “Shad Rahay Pakistan” will be held at the Dubai Pakistan Association grounds. The festivities will include a Pakistani street food festival, cultural performances, art workshops and performances by the Dubai Police Band.
