His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at the Al Marmoom Lounge in Dubai on Friday.

The ruler of Dubai expressed his sincere wishes for peace, security, stability and prosperity in Syria and the entire region.

The meeting discussed the general situation of bilateral relations and the prospect of expanding cooperation, which met the aspirations of the people of the two brothers, realized their comprehensive development goals, and increased the chances of peace and stability in Syria and the region. The two sides also reviewed the current situation in Syria, as well as various developments on the Arab and international fronts, as well as all topics of mutual interest.

Sheikh Mohammed affirmed the UAE’s keenness to discover new avenues for constructive cooperation with Syria and is closely following opportunities to advance such cooperation for the common good of the two brotherly peoples.
