Robert De Niro hailed Anne Heche as a “wonderful actress”.
The Hollywood icon, who starred alongside the actress in the 1997 political satire “Shake the Dog,” paid a warm tribute to Heche following her death at the age of 53.
In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, De Niro, 78, said: “I am so saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Anne Heche. She was an amazing actress and I absolutely loved being with her on Swing. work in the dog.” Sad! sad! sad! “
The actress died on Friday (8/8/22), days after the car accident.
A representative for the movie star previously confirmed that Heche was in a coma following the crash.
They said: “Shortly after the accident, Anne Heche lost consciousness, fell into a coma and is in critical condition.
“She had severe lung damage that required mechanical ventilation and burns that required surgical intervention.”
Heche’s close friend Nancy Davis later confirmed she had died.
Nancy said: “Heaven has a new angel. My lovely, kind, funny, lovely and beautiful friend @anneheche went to heaven.
“I will miss her dearly and cherish all the wonderful memories we shared. Anne was always the kindest and most thoughtful person who always brought out the best in me.

Heche’s former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres also paid tribute to the actress on Twitter.
Allen, 64, wrote on the Weibo platform: “This is a sad day. I want to send all my love to Annie’s children, family and friends.”
