The meeting was attended by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Defence, police stations throughout the UAE, the National Meteorological Centre and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
The NCM National Meteorological Center clarified during the meeting that recent developments through the weather map indicate that the barometric system is extending south, so based on the latest map, its impact on the country is expected to be limited.
The NCM noted the possibility of localized cumulus formation, with possible light to moderate rain, with the exception of Al Ain city and the Al Dhafra area, heavy rainfall is also possible in the eastern and northern parts of the country. The NCM also noted the remaining mild and often active southeastern dust winds.
NCEMA said all administrations confirmed during the meeting that they were fully prepared for all possible scenarios and changes, stating the continuity of continuous meteorological monitoring of the low pressure system and ensuring the readiness of all plans and the health of all teams.
NCEMA added: “The relevant authorities have also confirmed that new announcements of all developments related to weather conditions will be shared through all official platforms, calling on the general public to obtain information from official platforms and stop the spread of rumours.”
NCEMA has assured authorities that it is ready for the upcoming forecast weather conditions. And, the Ministry of Interior warned motorists to be careful on UAE roads.
Earlier, the NCM issued a flood warning, warning residents and motorists to avoid valleys and areas prone to flooding and landslides.
