Mark Watt scored his first one-day international five-wicket to give the UAE another crushing defeat to Scotland in Aberdeen.
The left-arm spinner has already tormented the national team once in this Cricket World Cup League 2 tour, when he took four wickets in the opening game.

This time, he added five with 33 as the hosts beat the UAE on 86 at Manorfield.
The result means Scotland continue to hold zero against Oman, who are currently leading the league, forming part of India’s 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
The top three teams will automatically advance to next year’s global qualifiers. The remaining four will compete in a last-chance retake to try and do just that.
Given the slump in form at the Emirates, their place in the qualifiers is far from certain. So far, the national team has suffered a three-game losing streak on the tour.
The other game, Tuesday against the U.S., will overtake them for third place in the standings.
“Today was another opportunity to widen the gap, but we didn’t do that,” UAE captain Ahmed Raza said
“We have one last chance and we want to make sure [one-point] The gap still exists. “
The UAE bowlers started the day in good fashion, with Kashif Daud sacking Craig Wallace with his third over – and one more after being batted for six.

His new ball partner Junaid Siddiq was equally hot, and it wasn’t long before his other opener, Kyle Kotzer, prevailed.
In fact, the bowling effort has barely waned since then. Spin batteries, led by the outstanding Raza, are more exploratory. Raza delivered 10 left arm spins and returned 2 for 39. Basil Hameed took 2 of 42 off-spins.
However, Scotland were still able to accumulate 254 points from nine men in their 50 games, showing a frustrating defensive effort on the Tour side.
The catch is discarded. The ball is swung to the boundary rope. Even Vriitya Aravind, the young talent of UAE cricket, spent the rest day wearing gloves.
He gave up nine byes and missed the worst of a pounding from Matthew Cross when Scotland’s substitute captain was just 26. Scotland’s wicketkeeper paid the price for his opposite number. His team went three for 111 when the opportunity was missed.
Scotland had reached 8 with 252 when Kroos managed to score 85 from the crease, batted by Rohan Mustafa with two balls in the innings.
That’s far beyond the compass for the visiting team. Muhammad Waseem initially said it might be doable, bringing his T20 excellence to the mode he has struggled so far.
He hit two sixes and two fours in the chase’s stunning start, but his 23-ball run in 14 innings was the only short-lived hope the Emirates showed with the bat.

Watt’s North and Chris Sol’s pace was undone for the second time in four days as he took two wickets and they surrendered to 168 in 41 overs.
Only Alavender, who seemed intent on correcting errors in his fielding efforts, showed any stickiness. The young glove hand made 50, the second half of a century on his tour.
“We should look at that 20-year-old boy and see how he does business,” Raza said. “We have senior players in our squad and now is the time to put your hands up and do well for your team.
“We have one more game to play and this is our last chance to get two points.”
