Rotana, one of the region’s leading hotel management companies with more than 100 hotels in the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Turkey, has appointed Carole Gemayel as its Director of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).
It said environmental impact remained a key priority for the pioneering hotel group as the group continued to push through its tenacious expansion plans.
As a company director, Gemayel will be responsible for furthering the company’s sustainability vision and delivering on Rotana’s long-term commitment to being a responsible and environmentally conscious business.
In her new role, Gemayel will be responsible for working with the Rotana team to innovate, develop and implement new management systems to meet and exceed environmental and safety compliance related to Rotana’s operations and activities, it said.

With over a decade of industry experience, Gemayel holds an extensive list of credentials and positions include Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. Most recently, she worked as an Environment, Health and Sustainability Consultant and Trainer, supporting several clients in Lebanon with internal audits and spearheading improved solutions. Previously, she was Traceability, Food Safety and Regulatory Officer at Groupe NutriXo in Paris.
Known for its sustainability best practices in the region and within the industry, Rotana has been actively involved in several initiatives since launching its global corporate sustainability platform, Rotana Earth, in 2013. The platform provides a comprehensive framework for addressing environmental, economic and social sustainability issues, which is implemented across Rotana’s entire portfolio of new and operating hotels, hotel apartments and resorts. – TradeArabia News Service
