James Bay is married to childhood sweetheart Lucy Smith.
The “Give Me Reason” singer announced that he and his longtime partner, who welcomed the world with his first child, daughter Ida Violet last October, have tied the knot .
The 31-year-old singer shared two professional photos of the couple’s special day on Instagram, simply captioning the post: “Mr and Mrs Bay, August 2022”, along with a red heart emoji.
The couple, who have been together for about 15 years, previously thought she was the one who got him to pursue a career in music.
He said: “She is the coolest person in the world. Before we were in love, we were close friends.
“In the past, we would sit at home watching TV on Wednesday nights and she would say, ‘Wait a minute, if one day you want to be a big artist, you should definitely go to some bars or clubs and play some current songs’.
“She instilled that in me, and I went out and did it. I wouldn’t be here without her.”
The “Hold Back The River” lead singer has always been a “personal figure,” but his latest album, “Leap,” comes from a place of pure “joy and positivity” after becoming a father.
“I’ve never written from this angle before,” he said.
“I have never been writing in such a happy and positive place. Lucy and I first got together at 16 and have been together ever since. She has supported me since day one. From open ended Mic night, right up to my biggest gig. It’s been one adventure after another, but now we’re at the biggest one. Raising our beautiful daughter Ada.”
