Families in the UAE prepare differently before their children return to school in two weeks.

Some are taking their last vacation; others are planning a vacation at home, and many are busy seeing the doctor or doing some final shopping before schools reopen on August 29.

As the two-month-long vacation draws to a close, most families are hoping for an unforgettable break with their loved ones before they start setting their alarms, with worries about the new school year flooding their minds.

Sindya Sundar said: “Before schools finally reopen, we are going on holiday to South Africa. This is something my husband has been planning closely. We are heading to the Garden Route along the 300km coastal road at the southwest tip of South Africa. The most beautiful part of the country. Then we’ll head to Port Elizabeth, where the kids will hopefully enjoy some penguin and whale watching.”

Then we will head to Addo Elephant National Park, a diverse wildlife conservation park. This is also done especially for kids who will enjoy more nature and wildlife. So, my family and I were really looking forward to the trail and seeing the dunes, forest and unspoilt coastline. Once schools reopen, it will be a maddening routine again. So we thought let’s make the most of the holidays.

An American expat in the UAE, Shukri Deria believes a doctor’s visit is definitely on her “back-to-school to-do list,” even as she plans a quick outing in the UAE with her family.

“We are now completing all doctor’s appointments before schools reopen. This requires regular check-ups. Then I will take my daughter to the tailor to sew some clothes. Tomorrow is also our usual six-month cleaning day in North America. Then we Visited the orthodontist for my daughter. Also had an appointment with the ophthalmologist. My kids also attended a lot of different summer camps this year and continue to do so. Then we’ll catch up on some we haven’t seen in a while Friends who have passed. Finally, we will go to Ras Al Khaimah for a holiday from Thursday to Saturday,” said the Abu Dhabi resident, who has two children.

Others believe that moving away from established family routines can spark new thinking and strengthen love and appreciation until training begins again.

Shreya Chakraborti said: “We went to India to meet our family last month. But before school starts another school year, I am keen to have one last outing as a family. So, we are going to Georgia next week. School reopening The last few weeks before school is always critical as a lot of pending work related to uniforms and back-to-school purchases is still due. I’ve basically done it all for my kids.”

She added: “Within a few weeks after classes start, learning will resume in full. Usually unit tests or other exams will start as well. So I think it’s the best time for outings and the weather is getting better in most places. Also, I believe that family holidays can improve communication between parents and children as people can enjoy relaxing time together. Also, it allows a family to enjoy a shared experience. So, for me, in a busy morning example This trip is important before work starts again.”
