ABU DHABI, 16th August, 2022 (WAM) — The highly anticipated events, Middle East Design and Build Week (MEDBW) and Middle East Manufacturing and Technology Expo (MEMT) are gearing up to bring architecture, design, fabrication and technology Industry gathers in September.
The event, jointly organised by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and CONNECT, aims to accelerate technological advancement in architecture, design and manufacturing by showcasing innovative solutions at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 12 to 14 September 2022 (ADNEC) .
These events are supported by government agencies and leading industry associations such as Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), Ministry of Economy, UAE Chamber of Commerce, Abu Dhabi Culture and Department of Tourism, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Contract Furniture Association UK, Chartered Institute of Architects (CIOB), Manufacturing Technology Association (MTA), Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and Etihad Airways.
Participation from the world’s leading manufacturers and their distributors serving the entire construction, manufacturing and technology sectors, the exhibition will showcase products from Airtron LLC, Al Mahbara Digital Audio-Visual Systems Trading LLC, Al Masaood LLC, AVEVA Select Gulf, Solid and Solutions World Middle East DMCC, Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone Authority, Advanced Products of Sand LLC, Emirates Steel Arkan, Global Gypsum Co. As part of Abu Dhabi’s Industrial Strategy, which aims to strengthen the emirate’s position as the region’s most competitive industrial hub, the Abu Dhabi government has announced an investment of AED10 billion ($2.72 billion) in six industrial projects. The move is expected to boost the size of the manufacturing sector to AED172 billion by 2031. Initiatives in the strategy focus on key manufacturing industries, namely chemicals, machinery, electricity, electrical equipment, transportation, agri-food and pharmaceuticals.
To stimulate growth and innovation in manufacturing, the government plans to invest in Industry 4.0 initiatives through the adoption of new technologies and processes, digital geographic information system (GIS) mapping programs, indigenous supply chain programs, value chain development programs to promote local infrastructure development, circular economy programs and talent development programs.
Highlighting the role of MEDBW and MEMT in developing construction and manufacturing, Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “Today, Abu Dhabi leads an economic transformation driven by technological change in manufacturing and industrial growth. Some of their initiatives include supporting Industry 4.0, facilitating ease of doing business with MSMEs, accelerating the pace of technological transformation in the industrial sector, and sharing best practices for designing and rolling out incentives to drive the transition to Industry 4.0 applications, the Abu Dhabi Innovation Framework To strengthen the emirate’s innovation framework.
Over the three-day event, a series of thought-provoking discussions and informative workshops will bring together industry leaders to discuss strategies and initiatives for the development of the architecture, design and manufacturing industries. Experts from the Ministry of Economy, AESG, American University in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, RIBA, Simone de Gale Architects, Schüco Middle East and VOX will present on topics such as construction market outlook, trends shaping construction industry, construction technology The future of design, innovation in design, and smart spaces for smart living are at the Architectural Dialogue Forum. Additionally, dedicated construction workshops will cover BIM + digital technologies to create a smart sustainable future.
Prominent industry influencers, C-Suite executives and leaders from Emirates Steel, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Al Masaood LLC and many others will be at Design Talks session on Building a Safer Future, 3D Printing Collaborative Architecture , Sustainable Architecture, Sustainable Architecture and Accessibility in Design.
The Manufacturing Talks session will feature prominent leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE Development Bank and other prominent companies to highlight the Make it in the Emirates strategy, manufacturing market outlook, development of SME manufacturers, manufacturing Labour and Manufacturing Financing Sector. Manufacturing workshops will demonstrate lean management techniques to reduce costs and improve quality control and functionality.
