UAE tops 11 indices as best destination for expats, report finds – News

The UAE ranks in the 11 Best Expat Destinations Index based on various factors including language, bureaucracy, career prospects, leisure options, travel, transportation, job satisfaction, security, healthcare, digital life, housing, wages and jobs Safer than the international rate, the international said.

In its report titled “Expat Insider 2022”, the German research firm said the UAE has achieved leadership in four key pillars and 11 indices out of five pillars.

The report includes an overall ranking of expat destination countries in terms of quality of life, ease of settling, working abroad, personal finance and availability of basic necessities.

The report showed that 94% of respondents felt safe in the UAE, compared with a global rate of less than 81%, with 86% of residents surveyed being satisfied with the government services available, beating the global rate by 25 percentage points.

Additionally, 90% of respondents said they could use cashless payments, compared to 84% globally.

In terms of the healthcare sector, 78% of residents in the UAE highlighted easy access to healthcare, compared to 64% globally. Additionally, 79% of respondents noted that living in the UAE improved their career prospects, compared to the global average of 65%.

Some 85% of respondents also noted that not speaking the local language is not a barrier, compared to 51% globally, with 83% of UAE residents surveyed stressing that administrative procedures are simple and easy, a 27-point improvement over the 56% globally percentage point.

About 75% of respondents said the process of finding housing was easy, compared to 54% globally.

Additionally, 83% of respondents said it was easy to apply for a residence visa, compared to a global rate of 56%, making the UAE a world leader in this field.
