Boy George and Culture Club

Four Winds Silver Creek Activity Center

11111 Wilson Road, New Buffalo, Michigan

In the early ’80s, few new wave groups were as popular as Culture Club. During that time, the group achieved seven consecutive top 10 hits in the UK and six top 10 singles in the US with its brisk, infectious pop soul. While their music was ready for the broadcast, it was the band’s charismatic, cross-dressing frontman Boy George who made the band its star. George made a splash on early MTV in a gorgeous dress and heavy makeup for a relaxed androgynous look. George was also quick-witted, often coming up with snarky one-liners, which earned him a lot of media exposure in culture clubs in both the US and the UK.

The Culture Club reunited for a tour in 2014, and the band also began working on a new album with producer Youth. The band planned to release an album called Tribes in 2015, but that record never materialized. Instead, the recordings set the stage for Life, a 2018 album that marks Culture Club’s first new album in nearly 20 years.

Tickets are priced at $79, $89, and $115, plus associated fees, and can be purchased online from 11 a.m. Hotel rooms available the night of the concert can be purchased with event tickets.
