Etihad Airways will strengthen air connections between the UAE and the Philippines this winter and increase daily flights to Manila.
A second daily flight will begin on October 30, offering guests a total of 14 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and the Philippine capital.
Both daily frequencies will operate on Boeing 787 Dreamliners, one of the most modern and fuel-efficient aircraft in the air.
“As one of our largest peer-to-peer travel markets, Etihad is proud to offer our guests more choice, making travel between the UAE and Manila even easier,” said Martin Drew, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Cargo.
“As more and more vacationers flock to the stunning islands of the Philippines, our double daily service will provide easy access for the large number of Filipinos in the UAE to visit family and loved ones, and support the recovery of the tourism industry.”
The combined double daily flights will allow Etihad to provide 450,000 seats a year between Abu Dhabi and Manila, representing a 75% year-on-year increase in capacity.
The increased frequency will also increase the total annual cargo volume to nearly 30,000 tonnes, opening up more business opportunities and supporting the growth of bilateral trade.
In Southeast Asia, Etihad Airways will offer up to 56 weekly flights this winter between Abu Dhabi and Manila (14 weekly flights), Bangkok (14 flights), Phuket (7 flights), Singapore (7), Kuala Lumpur (7) and Jakarta (7). – arab trade news agency
