Cricket fever intensifies as 2022 Asian Cup trophy is unveiled in Abu Dhabi

Also present at the unveiling ceremony were UAE Cricket Council Secretary General Mubashshir Usmani, Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva, UAE Cricket Council Advisor Subhan Ahmed, General Finance and Operations Company Suchith Perera, Asian Board Prabhakaran Thanraj, Head of Events and Business, Cricket Council and Asia Cricket Council.

The Asian Cricket Council’s major events are back after a four-year hiatus, with the 2022 Men’s Asian Cup in Dubai and Sharjah in T20 format. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host nine matches, including the final, while the Sharjah Cricket Stadium will host four matches from 27 August to 11 September.

The Sharjah Cricket Stadium, which hosted the inaugural Asian Cup in 1984, welcomes the global championship again as it prepares to host four major matches in a matter of weeks.

As a founding member of the Asian Cricket Council, Abdulrahman Bhatir was instrumental in the initial success of this tournament and believes it is the first time an Asian team will dominate the cricket hierarchy in the future One step, not to mention Sharjah’s reputation as a world class. A cricket-like venue and listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for hosting the most one-day international matches (245 ODIs) on a venue.

“On the 27th of August, the 15th Asian Cup will be held in Sharjah and Dubai. It has been a very fruitful 40 years and I am delighted that we are once again hosting. The initiative started in 1984 has paid off and I think it is One of my most satisfying achievements,” said Abdulrahman Bukhatir, founder of Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

After 11 years, the fifth Asian Cup was also held in Sharjah for the second time. The competition took place from April 5th to 14th, 1995. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh participated in this edition, with India winning the Asian Cup for the third time in a row and winning the Asian Cup.

“Life is really back to square one and we’re delighted to be hosting the Asian Cup again in 2022. Our stadiums have a global reputation for breaking records, having the best fans and having the most exciting ending, I don’t think this game will have What a difference.
