Authorities are warning motorists to drive carefully when it’s raining.

Abu Dhabi Police have asked drivers to also obey the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

The authority posted the advice in a tweet on its social media page.

The UAE has recently experienced an extension of air low pressure in the eastern and southern regions, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensities.

Authorities earlier launched a safety campaign to inform motorists how to stay safe in bad weather conditions.

Some steps that can be followed are:

  1. Check the condition of your windshield wipers and tires before you go
  2. Use headlights even during the day to improve visibility and alert drivers ahead
  3. Increase the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front
  4. Follow speed and direction signs on the road
  5. Do not drive through flooded areas
  6. Avoid distractions while driving, such as using your phone or taking pictures/videos
