Returning to one of the first in-person events in more than two years
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Singapore has hosted a series of oncology-related conferences that began on August 18 and ran until August 21, marking their first return to in-person and in-person events since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in more than two years .
The 2nd Young Women Forum (YWF), 6th International BRCA Forum (iBRCAf) and 9th Asia Pacific Gastrointestinal Oncology Summit (APGCS) were jointly held at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, bringing together best clinical practices and insights from global leaders Scientific updates, discuss difficult cases, and learn about a multidisciplinary approach to managing breast cancer in young women.
The scientific and organizing committees of YWF, iBRCAf and APGCS are dedicated to presenting new scientific evidence from global leaders, the impact of precision medicine on patient care, standards of care and protocols in cancer management, and aims to provide multidisciplinary Teams discuss difficult cases and build future prospects for Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
These events are the brainchild and fruit of a tireless collaboration between oncologists and specialists from Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, USA and UK. More than 20 countries from Singapore, Malaysia, India, the Philippines and Indonesia participated in the conference. The three events witnessed 130 expert presentations presenting state-of-the-art information in 25 scientific sessions and 10 poster presentations. Attendees also received CME-accredited time through the Singapore Medical Council.
Young Women Forum leaders kick off the series on Thursday, August 18 Drawing attention to the fact that young women with breast cancer face difficult treatment choices, much of which are based on clinical data from older women. YWF also reveals how having a complex disease at such a young age affects key parts of the reproductive cycle, family life and career.
More than 160 people attended the YMF physically, and another 550 participated virtually.

International Breast Cancer Forum on Friday 19 August, Provides clinicians and researchers with the latest information on hereditary breast and ovarian cancers. iBRCAf will have approximately 200 physical attendees and over 600 virtual attendees.
iBRCAf is one of the most important international scientific hybrid forums for hereditary cancers, as it is now known that people who inherit deleterious variants in breast cancer gene 1 and breast cancer gene 2 are at increased risk of being diagnosed with a variety of cancers, most notably the Breast cancer and breast cancer. ovarian cancer. iBRCAf responds to the needs and interests of clinical researchers and specialists in the field, as well as primary care providers who want to learn more about how patients are assessed and to whom they are referred.

Asia Pacific Gastroenterology Summit on August 20-21 And received global and regional gastric cancer experts. The summit returns, bringing together world-class experts in upper gastrointestinal and esophageal cancer, hepatobiliary malignancies, pancreatic and colorectal cancers with insightful presentations, interactive oncology committees and lively debates.
The APGCS witnesses global leaders in the field sharing their wisdom and expert opinions live and presenting the latest scientific data through dynamic forums, debates and multidisciplinary tumor committees. The APGCS had the largest attendance with nearly 250 people attending the live event and almost 700+ people over the 2 day period.
The APGCS was organized by Dr Shaheenah Dawood, Dubai Medical Hospital; Prof Toh Han Chong, NCCS, Singapore; Prof Pierce Chow, NCCS, Singapore; and Dr Iain Tan, NCCS, Singapore.
Prof Toh Han Chong, NCCS, Singaporesaid: “This year has been an exciting year, with highs and lows, and amazing breakthroughs in gastrointestinal cancers. Antibodies, including immune checkpoint inhibitors, continue to improve lives for many GI cancers.”
He continued: “The small clinical trial report of a 100% overall response rate of neoadjuvant Dostarlimab-gxly in mismatch repair deficient rectal cancer has captured global attention for its romance of future possibilities. Liquid Biopsy, Biomarkers Biomedicine, precision oncology, and the anatomical bias of colorectal cancer have all become their hallmarks.”
