Visitors can stand in the water and feed sharks up to two meters long.
The National Aquarium (TNA), the largest aquarium in the Middle East, will open in Abu Dhabi this year, preparing to display more than 200 sharks and rays. The best part is: visitors can feed them in a unique encounter.

The aquarium full of marine life will allow guests to dive into the underwater world and discover various species found in the ocean.
It will be home to 25 different species of sharks and rays-the bull shark will make its debut in the area. Visitors will be able to witness with their own eyes one of the shark species widely regarded as the most dangerous in the oceans and rivers.
Other residents of TNA include some sand tiger sharks, lemon sharks, zebra sharks, blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays, shovel-nosed rays, bullnose rays, and freshwater rays.
In the experience called “Shark Encounter”, visitors will be able to personally feed sharks up to 2 meters in length.
“We can’t wait to open this year to showcase our series of animals and animal-related activities. In general, people are afraid of sharks, and we want to celebrate these fascinating creatures that are vital to the health of the ocean. We hope through individuals Interactive, the aquarium will help people overcome any fears and perceptions they may have,” said Paul Hamilton, general manager of the National Aquarium.
The National Aquarium signed a five-year partnership with the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency (EAD) in July 2020 to help create the largest and most innovative restoration plan of its kind to protect and restore the emirate’s wild animals.
