Abu Dhabi Airports operates five airports in the UAE, Record Passenger numbers in the first six months of the year were 6.3 million.
This is primarily traffic from India, followed by Pakistan, the UK, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Egypt.
The top five destination airports are London Heathrow, followed by Delhi, Mumbai, Cochin and Cairo.
Airport operators managing Abu Dhabi International (AUH), Al Ain International (AAN), Al Bateen Executive (AZI), Del Mar (ZDY) and Sir Baniyas Island (XSB) airports registered 94,538 registrations in the first half of the year Flights take off and land this year (first half of 2022).
AUH’s scheduled passenger flights between 1 January and 30 June 2022 increased by 94% compared to the same period last year.
In the first six months of 2022, the airport managed 97,549 tonnes of air freight.
AUH’s load factor also increased by 73% in the first half of 2022, compared to 33% in the same period in 2021.
In the second quarter (Q2) of 2022, scheduled passenger flights at the airport increased by 117% year-on-year.
In the April-June 2022 quarter, AUH covered 104 scheduled passenger destinations served by 22 airlines, compared to 74 destinations served by 19 airlines in the second quarter of 2021.
India, Pakistan, the UK, Saudi Arabia and Egypt were the top five countries for AUH passenger traffic in the most recent quarter.

“The recovery of regional and global markets and the successful efforts of airlines to meet demand safely and efficiently have contributed to these numbers. Going forward, we aim to build on this success in the second half of 2022.”
