Obaid ur Rehman Nizamani appoints new Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan World News

Senior career diplomat Obaid ur Rehman Nizamani has been appointed as Pakistan’s new ambassador to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. Nizamani currently serves as Director of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has over 20 years of experience in the diplomatic service. This will be Nizamani’s first ambassadorial position.

He also serves as the Department’s Director-General for South Asia. Nizamani also served as Deputy Head of Delegation at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington from 2015 to 2019.

Nizamani has extensive experience in bilateral and multilateral diplomacy. He will succeed Ambassador Mansour Ahmed Khan, who will complete his diplomatic service by 30 August.
