UAE flights: New exemption for stranded residents from India, Pakistan and 4 other countries-News

This rule will take effect on August 5, 2021.

The authorities announced on Tuesday that more UAE residents from six countries that have suspended passenger entry can return to the UAE.

Starting from August 5th, travelers who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and hold a valid UAE residence permit will be allowed to enter the UAE.

Passengers from restricted countries/regions require ICA approval

At least 14 days have passed since the second dose of vaccine. They must also hold certificates in this area.

The exemption applies to travelers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda.

Flights to the UAE: increasing demand for quarantine in third countries

This is one of a series of exemptions announced by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA).

Otherwise, the entry of passengers from these six countries will be put on hold.

UAE flights from restricted countries: How do exempt passengers travel

In addition, starting from August 5th, the following categories of vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers will be allowed to enter:

>> Health workers employed in the UAE.Including doctors, nurses and technicians

>> People working in the education sector of the UAE: universities, colleges, schools and research institutes

>> Domestic students

>> Humanitarian cases with valid residency

>> Employed by federal and local government agencies

Allow Expo participants to enter

Previously, only eight types of exempt passengers were allowed to enter from restricted countries. These categories are:

>> UAE citizens and their first-degree relatives;

>> Diplomatic personnel between the UAE and applicable countries, including administrative personnel;

>> The official delegation must be approved in advance;

>> International participants and exhibitors of Expo 2020; and the personnel sponsored by their organizers.

>> UAE residents holding a gold or silver residence permit;

>> The crew of foreign companies’ cargo and transit flights;

>> Merchants and women entrepreneurs approved by the General Administration of Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones and the heads of the senior committees of the relevant emirates’ emergency, crisis and disaster management teams;

>> According to the classification of the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration, employees who belong to important functions.
