The inaugural U.S. Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS) aims to build bridges between manufacturers, governments, multilateral organizations, technologists, the research community and investors.
Co-sponsored by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the summit will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from September 28-30, 2022.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Co-Chair of GMIS, said that at GMIS America, UAE MoIAT is committed to fostering partnerships and creating ecosystems to attract sustainable industrial investment opportunities.

Hosted by Pennsylvania Governor Thomas Wolf, the roadshow will bring together experts from government and the private sector to spearhead discussions that will shape the future of manufacturing based on groundbreaking Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technology solutions.
As new technologies, supply chain disruptions and growing demand reshape the global manufacturing landscape, the United States has announced new strategies and initiatives to revitalize U.S. manufacturing and improve competitiveness. According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), manufacturing contributed $2.27 trillion to U.S. GDP in 2020.
According to Deloitte’s 2022 Manufacturing Outlook, the contribution of U.S. manufacturing to GDP in 2022 will grow by 4.1%.
Global energy transition
GMIS America will drive discussions on how digital technologies can accelerate the global energy transition and support sustainable manufacturing growth. The agenda highlights the relationship between manufacturing and the future of energy and will explore topics such as advancing the global energy transition, creating the future of the hydrogen industry, decarbonization, designing industrial circular solutions, scaling additive manufacturing, exploring how the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) ) are disrupting production models and enhancing advanced technologies to shape the future of the industry and accelerate digital transformation. Sessions and panel discussions will discuss how the application of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, edge computing, industrial Internet of Things and nanotechnology, can drive the adoption of sustainable industrial policies on a global scale.
