Abu Dhabi Airport ADQ-owned Senate ex-chairman Jamal Al Dhaheri has been appointed as its chief executive as it plans the tourism centre’s future growth.
Abu Dhabi Airports said on Thursday that Mr Al Dhaheri, who has more than 27 years of experience in senior positions at several major companies in Abu Dhabi, will succeed Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi at the helm of the state-owned entity.

ADQ’s transport and logistics cluster includes Abu Dhabi Airport. The latter owns and operates Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Del Mar Island Airport and Sir Baniyas Island Airport.
Mr. Al Dhaheri is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Cable (Ducab), Chairman and Vice Chairman of Silal Emirates Steel Akon.
