Balochistan [Pakistan]September 1 (ANI): A group of militants detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the Pakistan Oil Company Ltd workplace on Wednesday, killing a local employee, amid ongoing flooding that has caused widespread damage across Pakistan.
The incident occurred on the outskirts of Karat, Balochistan province, while work was in progress, injuring several other employees.

According to Dawn, the unidentified men launched the attack on a day when a moderate earthquake struck the area and its surroundings.
According to officials, the explosion occurred in the Sheikhri area on the outskirts of Kalat town, near the PPL site, when an improvised explosive device installed at the site exploded while work was in progress.

Meanwhile, a moderate earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit parts of the Karat district.
The tremors were felt in Karat and neighboring areas, forcing residents to leave their homes, Dawn reported.
So far, no casualties have been reported.
The quake hit Kalat when Balochistan was also reeling from flooding caused by torrential rains. Devastating floods have submerged a third of Pakistan as thousands of roads, houses, electrical towers and bridges were completely destroyed.
Pakistan has reported multiple bomb attacks in recent months.
