Abu Dhabi has launched a consumer dispute resolution service to expedite dispute resolution between UAE consumers and business establishments, amicably and at the best possible cost for the parties involved.
As part of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), the Abu Dhabi Business Centre (ADBC) launched the initiative in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department (ADJD) as part of Abu Dhabi’s efforts to protect consumer rights and promote supportive part of the effort. and transparent business ecosystem.
The launch of this new service strengthens Abu Dhabi’s consumer protection framework and complies with UAE laws, in particular Federal Law No. (15) of 2020 on Consumer Protection, which aims to protect all consumer rights, especially in relation to goods quality-related rights. goods and services, and data privacy and security.
The service is designed to resolve disputes between consumers and commercial organisations within 21 days from the date both parties appear before the Consumer Dispute Resolution Services team. The mediator may extend the period for a further 21 days if deemed necessary.
The task of the Consumer Dispute Resolution Service mediator is to meet the parties involved, bring their views together, and resolve disputes amicably. They may seek the assistance of an ADJD-registered expert or a subject-consented expert who provides technical expertise.
Resolved disputes will be approved by a judge with power to enforce bonds and judicial rulings, while unresolved disputes will be submitted to the ADJD.
“Consumer Dispute Resolution Services will support entrepreneurship and provide an attractive environment for investment in Abu Dhabi, while ensuring justice and rights protection,” said Yousef Saeed Al-Abri, ADJD Deputy Minister and Advisor.

To use the Consumer Dispute Resolution Services, registration requests should be made through ADJD’s official channels, including accredited typing offices and interactive registration through the ADJD website.
